AI Governance in HR
The organisations getting AI right in HR aren't the ones with the most sophisticated tools. They're the ones who treated governance as part of the build, not an afterthought bolted on after something went wrong. Ayesha Fatima
WHO AM I
Building scalable people operations across APAC and remote-first teams
Ayesha Fatima is a People Operations leader who has spent more than a decade building the kind of HR that organisations depend on but rarely talk about and who is now doing the same work for the AI systems entering HR.
The quarterly audit that catches an error before it becomes a compliance issue. The onboarding workflow where every new hire feels expected, not processed. The AI screening tool that gets evaluated for bias before it touches a single candidate, not after. The HRIS record that is accurate because someone made accuracy a discipline, not a project.
Her work spans the full spectrum of People Operations across Pakistan and the APAC region daily HRIS administration, recruitment coordination, performance management, employee support, and the kind of cross-border compliance navigation that only comes from doing it across multiple markets simultaneously. Alongside her operational role, she advises organisations independently on responsible AI adoption in HR, and is preparing for the AIGP (AI Governance Professional) certification through IAPP sharpened by ongoing conversations with a technology company founder navigating the same governance questions from the build side.
CPHR Certified. SHRM-CP candidate (exam scheduled December 2026). 10+ years. Open to remote-first and relocation leadership roles where people systems, employee experience, and responsible AI adoption genuinely matter.
